Boot Camp @ Love Machine
Posted ages ago
Last night saw me and soem friends out at Love Machine for their Long weekend "Boot Camp" party. AS usual I was out with my (new) camera taking photos for this stie. Somehow I managed to get way more than I needed, taking decor shots again (I just never know when I'll need one...).
Anyway as my first visit to the venue it was awesome, what a great space. Definately one of Melbourne's hidden treasures, and now I know where everyone dissapeared from the Candy Bar to go to. I can't wait to go again without being on photographic duty so I can get down and Boogie!!

Mardi Gras Bashing
Posted ages ago
Walking back to my hotel after Mardi Gras I witnessed a viscious and unprovoked bashing. 4 Guys Kicked a guy to the ground just outside the 7/11 I had walked into. I might just as well have been me. As I watched they broke his nose, cheek and split his head with their feet before they ran. Then today i read that volunteers were bashed along ther parade route. The violence got one step closer to me this year, making me a little bit more scared and wary of people. On the bright side the night before a girl asked me to walk her back to her hotel. Se wanted a gay boy to make her feel safe on the streets. I don't know what's happenning in the world, but I really wish we could find a way to make it stop!

To our Mardi Gras Marshals!!
Posted ages ago
What a great night. The Parade was a total success, and the party was brilliant. Paul Mac was the highlight for my night at the partty. I just want to make a special metion of the parade marshals who looked after us so well before and durign the parade. Sitting just past Taylors squuare the group for our section were dressed up with Rabbit Ears and Cotton Tails, 20 cuter bunnys you would never have seen. Their sexy antics kept us entertained in the long hours before the parade commenced. I'll load up some pics to my home page once I'm home (still in sydney for a few hours today). So big kisses to the guys and gals who looked after us at the Parade - adrian

Half way Mark
Posted ages ago
Well here I am half way through my wekend, Having shopped for 2 days I now have the perfect Outfit (I'll post a pic later). Last night I was Number 4 from Queensland win Courtney Act's Search for a BENT cover Boy. Being there takinbg photos - which I'll post when I'm back in Melbourne Monday night - was a total blast. Doubly fun was having all the Gay Gals from Lemons with a Twist stioll there from their earlier function.
Well I'm off to find a spot to stand for the parade now then off to the Party. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Paul Mac live. Have a fun and safe night everyone. Kisses - Adrian

What the hell do I pack!!
Posted ages ago
AAAAAhhhhhhh!!!!! I have to make decisions now. What the Hell will I wear to Mardi Gras. I can't take everythign so what do I choose?? The leather harness? The Shiny Shirt? Basic Black - Hell I don't even know what the new Baack is in Sydney this year???. So I can see I'll be up until 3 am packing and repacking until I have selection suitable to take. I'll probably still forget something essential (like matching socks).
The other problem of course is that there is only so much space left for clothing once I've packed all the other essentials. Razor, Hair Product, Phone charger, iPod and charger, Sunscrean, Assorted Condoms, Ear Plugs, Hats, Camera and charger!! and I'm only taking 2 bags.
It's looking more like 5am now that I'll finish because I've just realised that my bag still has sound gear (speakers, cables & microphones) from work at the Opium Den last weekend. and I wanted to go in to SLUT tonight in the city. Perhaps next week...
Well bye for now, I'm off to have a breakdown in fron to my wardrobe!

Dolly Diamond, Super Girly & talkers in the front row
Posted ages ago
Well last night the Opium Den went off for Dolly Diamond (out form the UK) and her guest Super Girly. I wish I had some pics but I was behind the sound desk all night. Dolly's got some great mileage out of some silly guys and gals who sat in the front row and then proceeded to a) talk through her songs, b) stand up and go to the bar during her jokes and c) answer their mobile phones - they then claimed they were trying to take photos of her with them, untill Dolly whipped them out of their hands and chatted to the (possibly mortified) queens on the other end. It just goes to show how many of the club kids have no idea how to take a live show instead of a lip-synced one. I can't wait for Super Girly to do a whole show on the 17th March!! Hope to see some of you there!! - Adrian

Queer Film Festival Opens!
Posted ages ago
When do you get time to have a break as a gay man over summer, especially in Melbourne. No sooner has Midsumma finished then there is the annual pilgrimage to Mardi Gras. Once I get back there is barely time to rest before the Melbourne Queer Film Festival starts. (More)

Midsumma Cruse & Beyond Party Weekend
Posted ages ago
OK
I'm officially exhausted. This Midsumma thing is wearing me out. Friday I went to the Midsumma Cruse (you can see my pics in the gallery), then I worked Saturday night at the Opium Den. Andrea rieniets was a total blast and could have held the attention fo everyone present for hours. Finally I went to the Beyone party after wotk on Saturday for some good old dancing and perving.
All three events had great crowds with friendly and interesting peopel to talk to. I just have to get myself enough sleep now to make it through to T-Dance on Sunday, then I can start preparing for Mardi-Gras!!!

I'm sponsoring sheep - will you?
Posted ages ago
Why the heck am I doing this??
Well Farmer Dave from big brother is in a bit of trouble it seems and he is at risk of loosing his new lambs if the mum sheep (ewes in farmer speak) don't get soem food soon. so for a meer $70 I've chosen to sponsor 2 ewes (and the associated lambs)
There are a few reasons why I'm doing this. Firstly Dave has done a lot of great things for other people with his celebrity. Donating winnings to other charities, he is about to make a fool of himself on dancing with the stars to support other drought stricken farmers, basically he has a great heart.
Secondly he has done some things personally for the Gay organisations I'm involved with in melbourne. The 2006 Rainbow awards, Midsumma, the Lotus Awards. I've met him on each occasion and he is so genuine it almost hurts.
Thirdly, Getting to watch him dance with local Drag Celebrity Millie Minogue to the Robbie and Kylie Kids at the Rainbow Awards Afterparty was worth it just for the lifetime that I'll get to hold these memories.
Finally and most improtantly, I know where the money is going. To buy food for sheep. Not to a big administrative support machine liek many childsponsorship agencies support. (up to 50% of you money never reaches Africa). So along with PFLAG and the Victorian Aids Council David has joined my list of Trustworthy Charities.
if you want to sponsor a sheep visit www.farmerdave.com.au
If you want to let people of other worthwile charities for the discernign Gay or Lesbian why not leave a comment below.
that's all for now

Dr Who and Mirror Mask Soundtracks Arrive
Posted ages ago
Finally my special orders arrived at Minotaur in the city.
First is the Soundtrack from the new series of Doctor Who. This music sends chills up and down my spine. Murray Gold and the BBC Wales Orchestra have made the new series fantastic and now I can relive - musically at least - the highlights anytime I want thanks to iPod technology.
Secondly I've finally tracked down the Mirrormask sound track by Iain Ballamy. The film produced by the Jim Henson company was a magical creation of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKeen. This sureal adventure includes a reworkign of the caprenters classic 'close to you' along with the totally amazing Mrs. Bagwell's Rhumba and If I apologised.
I'll be off now to loose myself in the music

Post Mooning Morning
Posted ages ago
Well the mooning is Over and the guy who pulled and Australian Flag out of his arse won. Other than that water sports tended to be the theme of the evening.
This made it akward for me as I had to be in the front row as one of the official photographers. I mean really pouring beer over your bum doesn't realy take much tallent no matter how nice the bum is.
Still the organisers made 10k for the HIV/AIDS charity they support so it was a good night all up.
Till next time. Adrian...
