Aloha from the delightfully trashy Waikiki

Posted yesterday arvo

So my love of Lilo and Stitch, fresh pineapple and the dumb movie 50 First Dates has led me to pick Hawaii as a holiday destination. So here I am...and I think they are as good a reason as any to end up here...  (More)

Daisy Chains of Desire

Posted on Thursday

My, what a difference twenty-four hours can make. From lying under the stars watching for meteors; to lying on carpeted dorm floors that smell of dust bunnies, wondering exactly how you are going to stop the world spinning, and how it can possibly be 3.30am.  (More)

L.A. Story

Posted last fortnight

One of my closest friends is a firm believer in physical memory. She belives that your body can internalise emotions, movements, ways of being with people; and that sometimes when something traumatic happens, like a break-up, the best thing to do is to overwrite these memories. I was always a little bit skeptic – until landing in Los Angeles. And then I cried. By accident.  (More)

I will talk and Hollywood will listen...

Today I'm like a kid at Christmas - I've got so many things to be excited about...and I realised I'd forgotton to tell my lovely SameSame readers about it all!  (More)

Queer Suburban Dreaming

Posted on the 5th

What a glorious weekend I've had. And it's only just ending, with my boss deciding to observe Bank Holiday yesterday! That means I’ve had almost three full days to luxuriate in my the surrounds of my new home...  (More)

Ex-lesbians, Hasbians, and Lesbians-on-Loan.

Posted last month on the 30th

In the past week I've had a number of odd moments in my social life that have all revolved around a very tricky issue. That of crossing to the dark-side. Coming out -as straight! A controversial topic to be sure.  (More)

Hullo, Mrs Madrigal!

So I've transformed my new house into something very Tales of the City like. Well, sorta. Maybe more like the Best Little GuestHouse in Texas. Um, in Marrickville that is.  (More)

When the going gets tough...

Posted last month on the 21st

Over the past month or so it’s fair to say I’ve had a bit of tough time. And there is only one thing to do when the going gets tough - and that’s get silly. Find a bit of a distraction. So I did!  (More)

Flatmate Wanted

Posted last month on the 7th

So. I’m about to move into a house in Marrickville with my two dogs. And now I need a flatmate! And of course...using this blog is a great way perhaps to find one. So if you’re homeless, or ready to move, or just incredibly voyeuristic about my home life then read on…  (More)

Ripple Effects of Sadness

Posted on the 16th Jun, 2008

I've been thinking now for a while about what to write in my next blog, and even IF I want to write another blog ever again. You see, I broke up with the GF. And it's so sad for both of us. And I wasn't sure what I wanted to say about it all. So I've decided to say almost nothing.  (More)

In which I learn to love my family.

Posted on the 30th May, 2008

I had last week off work as carer's leave- flying to Brisbane to care for my mum who'd just had a rather nasty operation and is now off work, and alone, for six weeks. After a day in my old home town I was well and truly ready to write another "my family is sooo crazy" blog. But then a funny thing happened. I started to LIKE my family.  (More)

Advice for Younger Lesbians

Posted on the 16th May, 2008

On Wednesday I went out for birthday drinks with the most eclectic bunch of kids. Ranging in age from eighteen to mid twenties – half of them bursting out of the closet and the other half evangelical Christians. Oh boy what fun. Mainly cause I couldn’t tell the groups apart. I mean we all know that nothing pushes someone towards religion faster than insecurities about sexuality!  (More)

Finally, A Sport for Geeks

Posted on the 7th May, 2008

I"m not the sporty type. I failed PE at school. I jiggle when I try to run and whine when I try to build muscle. I was even fired from a lame Stonewall version of" Biggest Loser. It was called "Battle of the Bulge" and I got shafted for whining. However, I've finally found a sport I love. It's daft, it's geeky, it's hi-tech and it's called Geocaching.  (More)

Fetish on a Friday

Posted on the 18th Apr, 2008

God help me, I always manage to get myself in trouble on a Friday. It's when the week is drawing to a close and I'm restless, looking for some distraction that I end up with a dumb idea. Once, I almost bought a dog walking business on a Friday. But this latest effort takes the cake - and it started when I clicked by "accident" on the adult gigs section of Craigslist.  (More)

Technology Ate My Life

I’ve decided today that I’ve reached some sort of tipping point – where the majority of my life is recorded inside a machine somewhere, and doesn’t happen in reality.  (More)
